Welcome to the Stamping Sunday Blog Hop where this month we are talking Tags and Trimmings.
With Christmas on the way faster than many of us can keep up with, I recently felt the need to create an Advent Calendar from the Tags and Trimmings Bundle, in preparation for December 1st.
This is such a fun set and ever so cute with so many possibilities. Use the Stamp Set to stamp on the little stockings or not, the choice is yours. I loved using the Cable Knit Embossing Folder that I’ve shown here for Day 3. I mean, who wouldn’t use a cable knit for a sock?
To make the cute artificial pine sprigs look frosty, I have used some Embossing Paste that I’ve gently brushed over the surface and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, before allowing to air dry. It helps bring them to life and gives your project a real pop.
The snowflakes have been die cut from Vellum, which I felt added a more frosted look, rather than a heavier cardstock. I do like the pop of Cherry Cobbler Red Ribbon to give the more muted colours a lift.
This is certainly not an hour long project, but more of something you’d set aside for a whole day, which is what I did recently with some of my customers. They all had the option of making this Advent Calendar or creating something entirely different, using the same elements. The little box to the back of the stockings, can be made into a simple Pillow Box and beautifully embellished.
I hope you’ll consider creating an Advent Calendar this year or some little treat boxes from this beautiful set. With so many different year round elements in the Die set, I honestly don’t think you’d be disappointed.
Now hop on over to the other design girls to see what they’ve got to share with you.
Happy Stamping Sunday everyone
