Stamping on the Happiest of Days with my customers is a welcome break from the hectic life of on going building works at home.
Last week we created this little note card and envelope pocket to house four cards. three designed by me and one spare for the ladies to create something of their choice. It was lovely to see what they each came up with when given the opportunity at the end of the session.
I really did take it back to Ink and Paper for this class, so a great one for beginners and a welcome break for quick and simple cards for those who would usually create more intricate cards.
Once we’d made the base for the pocket, we set to putting a wash of watercolour over the base of two of the cards as a gentle colour background. It helped to just take the plainness away from the stark white background, but adding an informal wash of colour like this.
The images of this set are just so beautiful and make the stamp set so versatile. Birthday’s, Wedding’s, Anniversaries and even Christmas with the little parcels.
I decided to stamp up the flap of the envelopes to add interest to them, but leave them black and white, so that the card did all the singing when it was revealed, along with it’s gentle colour palette.
I so love this pretty little cake on it’s cake stand.
Switch these colours up and you have yourself the makings of a Christmas Card or Thank you card. Who says you can’t stamp the envelope with the sentiment too?
Such a simple little set that my ladies thoroughly enjoyed creating.
You can switch up the colours to what you have in stock or to your colour palette or theme and create something really quick different every time.
Hoping that you’ve enjoyed this sharing and hoping to get back to some more regular posting as the school holidays near an end.
Happy Stamping
Would love to make thEse carss with the packet. Will you be posting a TUTORIAL for this packet? Or can you point me in the right dire for an EXISTING one? Thanks!
Hi there Rosemarie, I will happily share a tutorial with you. I’m busy for a few days now, but will take a look on Friday for you. Watch this space x
Rosemarie, I have those measurements for you – (forgive me if this is appearing in capitals, My caps lock isn’t on, but that’s what’s showing on the screen)??
One sheet of A4 cardstock cut into two pieces:
10″ x 3 3/4″ scored at 5 1/4″ and 6″ (this forms the ouside wrap)
9 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ scored along the long side at 3 3/4″ 4 1/2″, 8 1/4″ and 9 1/8″ and along the short side at just 3/4″ (this will form the internal pocket).
On the smaller piece, snip up the long side to the single score line either side of each square and notch in as you do when making a box. Snip off the final end tiny rectangle where the end tab is. Bone fold all score lines and adhere into a tube, before adhering up the base. Attach this to the inside of the wrap to open in either direction, sideways or top opening.
I hope that helps x
Love this project Mikaela, what a great way to showcase this stamp set. x
