A couple of weekends back, I had a 50th Birthday Card to create for a friend and took inspiration from the Card Kit, Hello Friend.
Sometimes we lack inspiration, other times our Mojo and other times simply time. Summer holidays for me with a 6 year old about can be tricky to grab enough time to really sit play and design. It’s times like this that I turn to the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue for Inspiration. Just a few pages in and I came across the gorgeous Heat Embossing Card Kit, Hello Friend that gave me inspiration for this card.
The person who this card was for, is a mother of a school friend of our son’s. She threw the most amazing party called FiftyFest with live music a marquee, Fish and Chip and Ice Cream Vans and even wrist bands and porter loos. It really was like a real festival and most enjoyable.
There is a card in the Kit that inspired the colour scheme and layout for this card, that I simply adapted. Take a look at the kit, you’ll see immediately which card I decided to base this card upon.
This kit is valued at £24 for 15 beautiful cards and has a stunning stamp sets that coordinates with it and can be used in many other ways. You’ll see that I used the little flowers to stamp on card stock that I then die cut the numbers out of. The little word ‘celebrate’ that I added, was taken from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set … another perfectly fitting set for the person who this card was for.
For a quick card, I was very pleased with the outcome and hope it was well received by it’s recipient too.
