Finally the hard work has paid off. My Craft Room has undergone a much needed Makeover and the benefits are quite remarkable.
My beautiful Craft Cabin has been up a good few years now and it’s amazing how much you can accumulate in that time, so, inline with the announcement of the recent retirement list and with some help from two very patient and wonderful friends, I decided to give The Crafty oINK Pen a good makeover.
Everything about the place was looking tired, cluttered and generally unloved. Oh don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my craft space and feel very lucky to have such a wonderful space, but sometimes being so busy, means I’m in, what I call, ‘a dump and run’ phase. That’s the phase where things live in piles and seldom get put away for you being so busy. You do, dump and run.
Well, it all started one evening when two dear friends helped me to make a good start on it and over the weeks that have followed, It has developed into this wonderfully tranquil place to craft in. I love it more now than I did the day I first moved in. Even my son favours the location of my new desk.
IKEA for Craft Storage
You’ve got to love IKEA for Craft Storage. There has been a huge difference since introducing the doors and drawers to the KALLAX cubed storage units, in this second phase of organisation. I now make best use of the height of each shelf opening, where as before, things just piled up or didn’t fill the space fully.
My new desk, is so much nicer, even though it is smaller than my old one and doesn’t have hanging files. There are various options, but mine is made up from two sets of ALEX drawers, with a Desktop placed over the top. I have a drawer for each colour family and store my cardstock off cuts in there now.
The installation of the STENSTORP Kitchen unit and trolleys, with higher work surfaces has made a massive difference for my on going back issues. It’s great for cutting, die cutting and for a general prep area. I love it and even have a high bar stool positioned behind it for the days when I fancy sitting at it. I have my tea and coffee station set up on the smallest STENSTORP trolley by the main tables.
Stamp Set, Punches and Ribbon storage
The MOSSLANDA Picture Ledges beautifully store my Ribbons and I have the well known KÅSKOG trolley for my everyday tools of adhesives, clear mount blocks and generally things I am working on that week sat by my desk. I store my stamp sets and punches on the GNEDBY shelves which are all in reach of my chair. I am delighted with how it has all worked out.
Fancy Joining me for a Personalised Craft Session?

We can work on whichever Stamp Set or Suite from the New Annual Catalogue that you’d like me to pre design with. A real session for you to play with my craft supplies in this lovely tranquil space and experience a taster of The Crafty oINK Pen, here in Cambridgeshire, first hand.
Spot the difference
If you’ve never crafted with me before, you’re not a Demonstrator already and you have a friend you can bring with you, then I’d love to craft with you. All you have to do is post a comment to this thread, listing three differences between the before photo and the after of my craft room. You have the weekend to enter. Post your comment before 8am UK time on Monday 12th June 2017 and with the help of a Random Generator, I will select a winner to join me.
Good luck and I look forward to crafting with you.
