Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Retiring Favourites

April 30, 2016 by Mikaela Titheridge 15 Comments

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop and with the new Annual Catalogue on the horizon, we sadly have to bid farewell to a few favourites to make way for what will become, new favourites.
If you’ve hopped over from the lovely Caroline, then you’ll have already seen her Retiring Favourite, which may be yours … well, here is mine.

Zoo Babies has been a firm favourite of mine for a very long time and certainly from the point when I designed a class that proved to be a favourite of some of my customers and regular class attendees and was pinned quite a bit on Pinterest.
I loved this project and I loved the cardstock that was used, which sadly retired a year ago.

Well, I took this project and decided to use it as inspiration for the project I share with you today …  from the first share using it, to my last share using it.
There is something about this little fellow that makes me smile and I couldn’t not use him for this project.
I did quite literally use the layout from my original creation as the basis for this card layout, but twisted it a little.

I do believe that Pool Party is my all time favourite colour. For a while it had become Mint Macaron, but now …. I turn to Pool Party more times than I care to admit to.
Not only is Zoo Babies sadly leaving us for pastures new, but the ever so useful Word Window Punch is also. It’s such a useful punch and fits both sentiments that come in this set in beautifully. I used the Ornate Tag Topper punch as the base for this gift tag.

The little flowers are from the Tree Builder Punch, which thankfully has it’s roots firmly planted for at least another year.
I can honestly say … I really will be sad to not see Zoo Babies on my shelf as current stock. It really has been my ‘go to’ set when making a baby card. It’s just so much fun.
With all the excitement of the amazing reductions on the Retirement list, we thought we add to that excitement by holding a little giveaway.
Yes, that’s right, we are running a ‘Comment Blog Hop GIVEAWAY’ …. Basically any customer from the UK can just comment on our hops and you’ll be entered into a FREE draw to win this fabulous bundle of loveliness.
HOW TO ENTER: Comment on the blog post and get an entry for your comment. Note: Due to postage costs, this Giveaway is only available to UK Customers. Apologies if this doesn’t include you, but we’d still love to hear from you.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Once you have entered the Giveaway, then click on this link before hopping over to see what delights Eimear has to share with us all.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration today and I hope that if you have a favourite, that its made it’s way into your craft room already … If not, be sure to act quickly to avoid disappointment. Shop through my online store and include my Hostess Code at checkout to receive a little Thank you from me, along with a new shiny copy of the Annual Catalogue when it becomes available. You’ll not want to miss out on that either.
Happy Hopping

Love that little lion too – such cute projects Mikaela! Yes the work window punch will also be missed here – I found it a very handy limb in punch art as well as for sentiments – I'm sure there will be a great replacement though 😉

Oh Lesley, I'm so pleased you like the zingy colours. I love your descriptive wording for it. They were most certainly fresh and cheerful x

Thank you Denita and thanks for stopping by to leave me a message x

Thanks Emma, oh yes the Tree Builder Punch is my back up for that very reason. Thanks for your kind comments on my photos, I've recently undertaken a photography course and throughly enjoyed it x

Oh yes Eimear, the word window makes great limbs for punch art, so I doubt I'll be parting with that one x

I'm so pleased that you like the Curvy Keepsake box, Papercraft Artistry. I just love that shape of box regardless of the decoration/embellishments x

Thank you Louise …. Sounds like we'll be mourning the loss of the same things, from Lost Lagoon to Zoo Babies 🙁 Here's to some new favourites though xx

I understand your sadness Claire … there are some real beauties leaving us. Amazingly though, Stampin' Up! have a real knack of being able to hook us into yet more delights in the next catalogue that then become our favourites. Thankfully …. these retiring favourites don't have to leave our shelves and will always stay close to our hearts and be used x

I may have been quieter than normal with my crafti I may have been quieter than normal with my crafting but I recently designed a series of cards for Die Cutting Essentials Magazine using the Fern & Flora Bundle by Stampin' Up!

I adore the botanical feel of these dies and what you can create with them. This wreath card screams whispy fresh air combined with richness, I just loved creating it. Would you welcome a botanical card like this for your birthday?
