Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Sneak Peeks of 2016

December 26, 2015 by Mikaela Titheridge 8 Comments

Welcome to this Month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop and compliments of the season to one and all.

I hope this blog post finds you well and in good spirit and I hope you enjoy the Hop and what we have to share. I feel sure that you’ll have already seen some inspirational makes  from Kim and the girls before her and there’s more to come …

I have been enjoying a Christmas Day with hubby and one excited little boy, who turns 5 next month. The magic just grows stronger each year for him and it’s wonderful to see.

It’s a season for over indulging and a season when tummy’s often expand … well for one dear friend, her tummy is on the shrinking, as she gave birth to a gorgeous little boy about a week ago. When the theme was set for a Blog Hop to showcase some Sneak Peeks of the up coming Spring/Summer Catalogue and/or Sale-a-Bration offerings, I turned to a set that is amazingly versatile …. ‘Welcome Words’. The beauty of this Stamp Set is that the words blend beautifully with so many other Stamp Sets and here I coupled it with one of my favourites … Zoo Babies.

I wanted a colour theme that wasn’t necessarily your traditional baby blue, so used Lost Lagoon, Delightful Dijon and Very Vanilla. I was mainly influenced by what ribbon I had on the shelf that would have be of suitable size to use.
I didn’t want to over clutter the front of the card, so chose to complete the sentiment on the inside.
With more faux stitching, I edged the inside and added another little monkey holding these gorgeous balloons from Balloon Celebration. I love how these balloons layer so perfectly and with Balloons being so generic and suitable for many an occasion, it’s a must have Stamp Set for your collection.

With so many choices of sentiments, I wanted to show how Welcome Words could be used for another completely different occasion …. and what better than to celebrate the New Year and to welcome in 2016?!

I don’t know about you, but I ran out of time to send all the cards we normally would for Christmas, so a New Year’s card might just have to fill the space.

You can’t really see it here, but I’ve used Shimmery White Cardstock as the top layer on Sahara Sand and Silver Foil Cardstock. I’ve sponged to create a Bokeh technique behind the sentiment. The numbers came from the Project Life Day to Day stamp set and the silver foil stars created from the Confetti Star Punch … another favourite of mine. If only you could see the shimmer that this card stock creates with this.

If you were to Join my Team, you’d receive a card made using the Welcome Words set to Welcome you  … it really is such a versatile Set, that you’ll be amazed at how many times you’ll find yourself turning to it.
If you’d like to receive a copy of the Spring/Summer Catalogue and upcoming Sale-a-Bration Flyer, then be sure to contact your Demonstrator and if you don’t have one, I’d be happy to help … We’ve a great year of crafting ahead of us, some gorgeous products to use and some amazing FREE goodies to be had within the Sale-a-Bration period,
5 January to 31 March 2016 … so don’t miss out.
Now continue the Hop and see what lovely creations Caroline has in store for you.
Enjoy the rest of the Festive Period and as my second card states … Here’s to another Year together in 2016.
Mikaela x

Oh Kim, I'm so pleased that I've helped you to see the versatility of this stamp set. I will look forward to seeing what creations you come up with it when the time comes.

Lesley, the baby card has already reached it's rightful owners, so I' afraid that one is no long even in my hands, but the other is and we still have a few days to go before the big count down. I'm pleased you like them.

I could so do with increasing my Ribbon Stash too Emma, which was why I was lead by what ribbon I did have on the shelf x

Thank you Louise and Happy New Year to you and your family. Yes, I too default to C6 for classes. DL card sizes do take more cardstock, but are lovely for that special occasion. I'm pleased you liked them x

Those of you who know me well, will know I love co Those of you who know me well, will know I love colour … but what colour sofa do you think I chose for the new Craft Snug?

Cream
Olive
Teal
Pink

My WHY for doing what I do has always been to be around for my family. Being way down the end of the garden has been wonderful but there has always been something missing …. the closeness of the boys.

My new room, our converted garage, will be a multi functional space. A Snug and Craft Den all in one. One end for hubby to sit and watch tv when I want or need to craft. A space for us to be together in those cold dark evenings when being alone in the summerhouse has been no fun. I can’t wait and feel sure I will be far more productive.

Kitting this room out has been both fun and challenging but what colour scheme do you think I’ve gone for? Our neutral walls blend with the rest of the house but what colour sofa do you think sets the scene for this new space?

It all kicks off next week, when we take delivery of our new sofa and the new window goes in. This afternoon we finish measuring up for my new craft storage, as it’s only my desk that will move with me, none of my Kallax units.

Exciting times but could you make this drastic move from such a large space to this much smaller space like me?

A saying that I’ve lived by and am often saying A saying that I’ve lived by and am often saying to our son “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got”.

Change can be scary but change can also be very exciting. It’s a tough one that I know many won’t understand but it’s time for change for me and this change excites me. Having worked in a wonderfully spacious summerhouse at the end of our garden for many many years, it’s time to move into the heart of our home … to a much much smaller space. Throughout this transition I will share just why.

Follow to see how I manage to transition from my usual spacious cabin to just one end of this room. Yes, just one end, for this room will be multi functional. I’m going full circle back to where this all began and I cannot wait!! Of course there are things about the summerhouse that I will miss, but there is way more to look forward to. I invite you to follow and see just how I organise my new craft room.

Excitement is brewing and hubby is working hard to get some wall panelling fixed in place before the carpet and furniture starts to be installed.

From #ArtisanDesignTeam member Mikaela Titheridge (@thecraftyoinkpen): “Create a reverse-masked background by die cutting or punching an aperture from a piece of copy paper and laying this over your cardstock. Blend ink to form a colored panel and repeatedly stamp over this before removing your mask. Add a collage of die-cut, watercolored images, a sentiment panel, and some embellishments, and see your reversed, masked panel come to life.”

Had enough of making Christmas Cards and want to m Had enough of making Christmas Cards and want to make something for your festive table? Then why not consider creating some coordinating festive napkin rings using the Paper Florist Dies?

Over on my blog today is my Artisan project that I created a few months back where I teamed up the Paper Florist Dies with Christmas Pinecones and Textured Floral dies. I knew I didn't want the standard Holly, Berries and Pine sprig foliage.

What colours will your table decor be?
