Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop, where this month we pay tribute to the 2013-2015 Retiring In Colours. You may have joined me from the lovely Emily Thompson’s Blog, but if not you can click on the link below to go back and see what she has created.
Each year we welcome in five new In Colours that are current and on trend colours to freshen up the spectrum on offer. To make way for them, it sadly means that we have to bid farewell to five departing colours.
Just Sayin’ is a fun stamp set that will also sadly be retiring and with a sentiment of “miss you already… ” it seemed most fitting to be used for this project. I coupled it up with the ever so popular Painted Petals, which I absolutely adore. You can now purchase Just Sayin’ for £14.21 and the coordinating Word Bubbles Framelits for just £10.48, which is a bargain.
I’ve used my most favourite flower sprig from the Painted Petals set, that I’ve chosen to ink up in Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. I chose to stamp over the raised sentiment bubble to continue the image with dimension. The base and sentiment are in Baked Brown Sugar.
I’ve aged up each card base by doing a spot of sponging and used some speckles from the ever so popular Gorgeous Grunge. That’s a staple stamp set for your collection.
I will miss that stamp set too and especially the word bubble framelits! They look fab on your projects Mikaela 🙂
I LOVE the noughts and crosses grid and the flowers folded are a FAB idea. I will definitely be case-ing this, they are really do add a lovely dimension to the card. Beautiful!
Brilliant use of the sentiments! And I love the subtle background effects.
Love the idea of folding the flowers! Lovely addition to the card.
Really lovely cards here Mikaela – I especially like the one with little punched flowers that pop out from the card – I too will be missing those great Just Saying works and matching Framelits
Awww Thank you all so much for your lovely comments and I'm so pleased that you like the subtle additions of dimension and the simplicity of the naughts and crosses. I did have fun with them and I'm pleased you have found some inspiration from them. We can all morn the retiring of the Stamp Set and Framelits together x
Fabulous cards Mikaela, so full of fab little ideas, especially like the folded flowers, Tfs xxx
Thank you so much Lesley. It would appear that the little folded flowers are liked by many xx

Gorgeous projects as always and I will miss Coastal Cabana the most too xx
Louise, When it comes to creating noughts and crosses from a predominantly flower based stamp set, you can tell that I was having creative fun! 😉
Emily, we can morn the loss of Coastal Cabana together.
Thank you all for your kind words x
So simple and fresh. They certainly tick the CAS box.
Love the clean, contemporary style of these cards Mikaela.
aww thank you Lesley. I was actually concerned that they were perhaps too simple, but I didn't think they needed any more. Not even extra layering. Thank you for your kind comments x
